The Young Coders Competition

What a fantastic competition once again this year!
The Young Coders competition, which has been an annual event for over 8 years, had over 1,000 registrations of interest and almost 600 entries. The standard of entries was even better than previous years! Children had to write a game in scratch to teach their pals about Time and Space. There were 3 categories: Key Stage 2 for 8–11-year-olds, Key Stage 3 for 11–13-year-olds and International.
Prize money for KS2 and KS3 of £200 for 1st place, £100 for 2nd place and £50 for 3rd place was kindly donated by Nimbl a card-based company which helps children to manage their pocket money.
The Master, Kerri Mansfield, made the awards to the winners, in a whirlwind ‘zoom’ tour to England, Scotland, Wales and Dubai! The children loved the Master’s explanation as to why she was wearing a huge gown and big medal on such a hot day!
