The WCIT / ILAA Archery Adventure

On 13th September, a select group of Members was trained as archers in the morning and in action with experienced bowmen and women in the afternoon. All proved to be highly creditable fast learners.
After their introduction to and tuition in the use of beautifully handmade English longbows, the group participated with other archers in the Fraternity of St. George “Spitfire Shoot” on the splendid Munden Estate in Hertfordshire.
The “Come Hell or high water” attitude of the Fraternity had our archers shooting in sun, rain, hail and sharp showers, but – undaunted – all acquitted themselves well in the ancient discipline of “Shooting to the Marks”. Each archer will receive a certificate.
Most importantly, the experience was enjoyed by all and has ignited a continuing interest in the sport from some of the participants.
L-R: Dilan, Naiya, Gavin, Gina, Peter, James, and Stuart – accomplished archers, all! (Peter Tero and Gillian Ferraro – not pictured – also participated)
