Entrepreneurship Panel Event: Hands-on Vibe Coding Workshop
29th January 2026 from 6:00pm — 8:00pm • Information Technologists' Hall
Join the Entrepreneurship Panel for a hands-on in person Vibe Coding Workshop Thursday 29th January 2026, 6-8pm at the IT Hall
What is Vibe Coding?
Vibe coding is a conversational approach to software development where you describe what you want to build in natural language, and AI tools generate the code for you. Instead of writing syntax line-by-line, you focus on the ‘vibe’ or overall intent of your project, iterating through dialogue with AI assistants. It’s become massively popular because it lowers the barrier to creating software, anyone with an idea can now build working applications, websites, or tools without years of programming experience.
Who is the workshop for?
Everyone! Whether you’ve never written a line of code or you’re already experimenting with AI-assisted development, this workshop is designed for you. Complete beginners will get hands-on experience with vibe coding from scratch, while those with experience can share tips, techniques, and lessons learned with the group.
What to bring
No IT equipment required, we’ll have everything you need. However, if you want to work on your own laptop and really get stuck in, bring it along -if so, you may need a few dollars for online credits to access AI coding tools during the session.
What to expect
We’ll break into small teams, each tackling a mini vibe coding project. Throughout the workshop, teams will share progress, swap insights, and learn from each other’s approaches. It’s a collaborative, hands-on way to discover why vibe coding has captured everyone’s attention, and why Collins Dictionary named ‘Vibe Coding’ its word of the year for 2025.
