The Events Panel invite you to join them on a comprehensive tour of the prestigious and world-famous British Library.

You will discover more about the Library’s history, collection and architecture on a tour of the public areas of the British Library. The tour includes a visit to the Viewing Gallery and book handling room where you can see some of the Reading Rooms and find out how books are stored, accessed and delivered. This is followed by an introduction to the Treasures of the British Library, to see some of the most iconic items held within the library collections. Find out more about the King’s Library (George III’s library) and the Klencke Atlas, the second-largest atlas in the world. Your guide will introduce you to some of his or her favourite items in the Sir John Ritblat Gallery, where over 200 of the library’s greatest treasures – from ancient to modern – are displayed and divulge fun facts and lesser-known histories you won’t find anywhere else.

There will be an optional lunch taking place beforehand at SPAGNOLETTI – All day Dining Italian Food Restaurant in London from 1pm which is to be paid for on the day. If you wish to attend the lunch please add a note in the additional information section when booking. Cost £20 (inc vat) with the surplus going to the WCIT Charity.
