The Art and Mastery of Networking Workshop 2 – 20/03/2025

The Entrepreneurship Panel is delighted to present a workshop led by Mr Neil Massa. Following his highly successful keynote for the WCIT in December 2024 entitled, “The Power of Human Connection”, Neil has volunteered to run these practical workshops which explore this topic in greater depth.

As a Member here at the WCIT, and as a business owner or leader of a company, we are all constantly wrestling with the tasks necessary to keep our business operating, growing and evolving; and yet still have time for the other important things in life. Our guest speaker’s solution has been to work with great people and continually find smarter ways of maximising time and leveraging his network to enhance both business and personal life. We all know that building a strong network of contacts is valuable but, fitting this into everything else we need to prioritise is extremely challenging. For many of us, our network has evolved throughout our career and few of us have intentionally, managed, leveraged or invested proactively in our relationships.

The benefits of establishing and nurturing a strong network of contacts are clear, however, what’s intriguing is that while many people recognise the value of building and maintaining such a network, few do it well. This is referred to as the “knowing-doing gap!” i.e. People know what’s beneficial and why, yet they often fail to do it. We’ve witnessed this pattern in ourselves and others countless times—it’ doesn’t make sense but it’s common!

The purpose of this event is to show you how to bridge this ‘knowing-doing gap’ when it comes to building, maintaining and driving value from a strong network of contacts. There are 11 barriers that stop people from building a strong network. Neil will identify these for you & offer a selection of practical ideas to overcome them, along with introducing the “shift in mindset” necessary to make this an effortless & enjoyable habit.

Neil will share the 9 approaches he uses to build & manage his own network, and various other ideas for you to consider that will enable you to strengthen and leverage your personal network, so that your connections deliver significant personal and business benefits.

Join us for one of these insightful 3 hour Workshops, connect with fellow members, and take the first steps towards leveraging, enhancing and intentionally driving your network.

About Neil Massa, Chief Executive Officer at “Smarter not Harder”

After a short stint as a research scientist in a Nuclear power station Neil moved into Sales and Marketing initially for Xerox where he spear-headed their partner and alliances channel. From there he moved to Dun & Bradstreet to set up their European Sales Academy and this was the springboard for launching his first business, The Talent Stream which has now become “Smarter Not Harder” (SNH), the organisation he leads today.

The majority of his experience has been working with companies across the technology sector to drive revenue growth and employee productivity. In 2015 he completed the first project to help a client design, build and manage their ideal network of contacts and his passion for this subject has grown and evolved ever since.
