Please join us for the City of London’s record breaking opportunity to show its loyalty to the Queen and celebrate her Jubilee

At 5.40pm on Monday 30 May 2022 The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists is organising The Big City Loyal Toast. Based on its experience in 2020 with Carols for The City, the WCIT is providing an opportunity for the whole livery movement and the City of London to join the Rt Hon The Lord Mayor Alderman Vincent Keaveny, the Lord Lieutenant of Greater London Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, and the Rt Hon and Rt Rev Dame Sarah Mullally, Bishop of London, to raise a glass to Her Majesty. Singing of the National Anthem will be led by Voces8, the City’s world leading a capella group.

Sadly it has come too late to register for an official attempt but we hope to unofficially break the world record for an online loyal toast, which is only 350 people. So please join us online and show your gratitude and support for Her Majesty.

Even if you cannot join us, please consider making a donation. To do this, simply purchase a ‘non attendance – donation only’ ticket.

Please note that your donation is being collected by the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists as agent on behalf of the following charities:

40% to The Lord Mayor’s Appeal (in respect of its work with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award) Registered Charity No: 1148976

40% to The David Nott Foundation‘s remarkable work in Ukraine (see below) Registered Charity No: 1162537

20% to The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists’ Charity Registered Charity No: 1113488

The funds will be transferred to the charities shortly after the event.

The David Nott Foundation

The David Nott Foundation provides specialist surgical training for doctors living in countries affected by conflict and catastrophe. It has trained over 900 doctors from across the world since we started seven years ago. When the Ukrainian crisis began, David Nott, the charity’s Co-Founder, and Dr Henry Marsh condensed our five day training course into a 12-hour webinar that was delivered online to over 500 doctors in Ukraine. Now translated into Ukrainian and summarised into a 6-hour recording of surgical experiences from the frontline it is being shared with doctors throughout Ukraine including triage, neurosurgery, damage control, burns, cardiothoracic, orthopaedics, paediatrics, plastic surgery and anaesthesiology. David Nott, said: “After Russia invaded Ukraine, I knew I had to get there. I had to help. Thankfully, I was able to get into Ukraine, volunteering my surgical skills in multiple hospitals right across the country and sharing our training recordings with the doctors I met.” To see more about David’s work and his recent visit to Ukraine click here.
